I have a Panasonic NN-A752W microwave, when I tried to use CHAOS DEFROST it worked fine for a short period then it stopped and a message came up on the LCD screen “reverse shield” or “turn shield” I can’t remember which now, not knowing what it meant I left it for a short time, and after about 30 seconds it started up again and continued counting down the time but it had become very noisy and there was a smell of burning so I turned the power off. Does anyone know what the “shield” message meant ?
I’m assuming the microwave is now dead.
    Any info would be appreciated.

never heard of this but it is a user instruction not an engineering fault so it must be in the user book.
if you have not got it try to see if you can download it

Hi Dave, I did check the user book but could not find anything about it, but I’m sure your right it’s not an engineering fault, I’m now guessing that the message about the “shield” is part of the Chaos Defrost program and this is done electronically by the machine, and the message is just to inform the user that’s the reason it has stopped briefly. So it looks like the increase in noise and the burning smell was just a coincidence and nothing to do with the message. Have now decided to bin it and get a new one.
Thanks for your time and info, much appreciated.
