My washing machine has started to only fully spin 9 out of 10 times. The other times it comes up with error code u13, which I know means uneven load. I’ve changed the loads and spun an empty load and the same thing happens. I’ve checked it’s not unstable. I’m at a loss as to why it goes through the full spin (very loudly) sometimes and the majority of times it doesn’t.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Usually this is a broken wire that goes into the plastic small box ( with a small pcb underneath it ) located onto the top of the tank at the front. Usually 1 or 2 wires break there by the insulation tape binding but note they are all white wires, which wires go where if you can resolder? You`ll just have to look at the way the wires broke!. If you are not sure what I`m on about go to Partmaster and type this in: 2454223pm for a picture shown upside down.

Resurrecting an old thread so that the documentation is in one place.

I have U13 on an NA-148VG4 and have removed the 3D sensor and used a meter with sharp probes to test all the fine wires – they are fine.

I also looked at the service manual on Partmaster and was able to run the service test for spin. This shows values for the x, y and z directions for the 3D sensor and then abruptly also goes U13.

any advice please as to whether to spend the £50 on swapping the 3D sensor or what else to look at?

The springs, weight and dampers are all in place and seem fine.

This is a fault rather than imbalance as the machine is bang on level and completely empty and still fails.

    thanks!

A pure gamble but a logical gamble, though it is 50 odd quid part not 10 quid! ( as it should be ) and it might not cure the fault, with Panasonic anything is possible, and so that is to replace the 3d sensor with fingers x`d. Best of luck.
