Panasonic NA-16VX1WG washing machine has become noisy

6 years old, cared-for, has started making a thumpy noise at the beginning of the cycle, and spinning has become a lot noisier. Otherwise ok. Just out of guarantee – of course!

If you can move the drum up and down the bearings will be gone.

And if I’m right, best advice is to start shopping for a replacement.

No I can’t move the drum up and down. It’s when it’s rolling / spinning that the noise has changed, muffly thumpy like on an uneven road surface.

Bearings, almost for sure just on the way out.
