Panasonic NA140vg3 error code H41

6yo Panasonic na140vg3 has stopped on spin cycle this morning with error code H41. Looking at the helpful fault code list on this site suggests “During spin data cannot be obtained from 3D sensor”.

To be fair the machine has been making significantly more noise than usual recently on the spin cycle so assuming it could be bearings issue – will try to get an actual look at the machine tonight.

Just wondering – assuming it is bearings – if anyone know the spares required/whether it’s economically viable to fix…

Doubt the 3d sensor is it self playing up. More likely sensing your drum bearing issue because the drum is off key. Officially you would have to buy a new half tank with bearings factory pre fitted at 300 quid unless you can get a bankrupt stock one – a trade growth area (!) – one off Ebay ( Ye Gods which idiot thinks up these prices? ). But you could dismantle the machine – 2-3 hours of fun and games by the look of things – and knock out the offending bearings which will be common sizes and will not be expensive the problem MIGHT be the oil seal size which luckily should have the sizes marked on it. Oil seal less than 7 quid with any luck from bearing suppliers. try to avoid damaging the tank seal though you should really change it too otherwise it might leak and then you`ll just have to dismantle it all again; waste of a Sunday!. If the drum is really wobbly ( or perhaps you also have a cracked drum spider which is common ) as things stand presently it could be all too horribly late and no-doubt the drum bearing shaft will be zapped too as the front bearing goes in to shrapnel mode in which case don`t bother trying to repair it and wasting your time and spons.

Thanks 1totalshambles, appreciate the feedback. Had a look last night, nothing apparently wrong with wiring, sensor, etc. but a very wobbly drum. Given the noise it’s been making & since I don’t have the time, patience, or necessary skill level to take this thing apart, I’m going to spend the time looking for a quick replacement – the head of the household requires laundry facilities! 😉
