    Hi,
A family member bought us this fridge freezer two weeks ago. I got round to plumbing it in just to test if water and ice dispenser works but the ice dispenser doesn’t seem to be getting any water.

I pushed the “test switch” on it and the ice box does rotate and the lever to prevent further ice being made moves up and down.

    What can be wrong?

If you have taken time to read the operating instructions it describes what steps to take to set-up the ice maker.
Is it not guaranteed, call for service if its not working?

No water to appliance – water supply
water inlet valve faulty – check valve does it open & close
power to water valve – have you power at valve
ice maker supply pipe frozen up – check this

There is water to the fridge. I even removed the filter and the water coming out of the fridge comes out faster but still no water to the ice machine.

I have no idea how to check the water valve or the water pipe.

After I use the test button and the ice cube box does it thing, I do hear a motor noise on the fridge side as it’s trying to pump something but nothing’s happening.

NO ICE. I decided to buy the Panasonic NR-B53V1, same as above except in silver. This replaces a Whirlpool side by side. The Panasonic was delivered last week on 4th June. I was immediately impressed with the quality and the interior LED lighting. All far superior to the Whirlpool. I connected the water supply using the same connection I had used for the Whirlpool. Twenty four hours later I discovered ice was not being produced although filtered water was available. After reading the Instruction Manual several times I phoned Panasonic and followed all the phone options and found myself talking to a third party service centre. It was obvious they had no idea either. However, they ordered a new part which arrived by post a few days later. An engineer arrived yesterday and fitted a new ice maker and spent an hour checking everything over. He left saying I would have a container full of ice this morning. I did not! Still no ice. Then I remembered the Instruction Manual mentions water pressure and a minimum of 22 psi So I increased the mains pressure by opening the stop cock fully. I now have a steady supply of ice. The Whirlpool was OK with the earlier pressure but the Panasonic needs more.
