ParticipantAnyone with an opinion on the Panasonic washing machines? They come with a 5 year guarantee much like a Siemens i’m looking at.
NA-14VA1WGB is the model number for the Panasonic. It can be had for £379 at the moment.
The Siemens model number is WM14E162GB and is £399.
Not much in it moneywise but what about quality wise? I see the Panasonic has a 15 minute quick wash!!

Yup, given an LG (and many others) can take 20 odd minutes just to spin!
Some of these claims are laughable.
There’s practically no info on the Panasonic machines due to the way that they are being sold and therefore it would be unfair to comment as almost none of us have any experience with them.

Tell me what? I’ve just found the Panasonic machine and as it came with a 5 year guarantee + a very respected brand name i thought i might gauge an opinion on them.
Seems that they have been making washing machines for years and are brand leaders out in the far east.

Yup.
Building top-loaders and machines with no heaters and suchlike specifically for the Far Eastern market, not for Europe.
Panasonic front loading washing machines for the European market, unknown quantity totally.
Think on it this way, what the Yanks will buy as a car for tooling down the freeway is not what we find acceptable in cars for Europe, Same thing, different machines. It’ll work okay, maybe, but it’s not exactly what we may want or be willing to accept.

That kind of decides it for me then. The Siemens one is good value at £399 so i’ll get that i think. Nothing really touches them i’m led to believe? Other than Miele of course.
One thing i can’t seem to get hold of a pdf manual for the Siemens though? I was sent a link on a previous thread but when i go through to the manuals it doesn’t link to anything.
Just wanted to now what was the quickest wash this will do?

Hi mercurystar,
I’d suggest you have a look at this article about wash times as, a lot of what is out there in marketing blurb is at best misleading. And, super duper, whizz bang fast washes will not get your clothes clean. In fact, they often do more harm than good and this is very important when you think that you will often be washing, easily, £100 worth or more of clothes in every cycle you do, you don’t want them ruined through lack of knowledge.
A couple of ruined loads a year soon knocks a few quid on the cost of a machine or the extra time as well as a little care into perspective.
Basically, most quick washes are a joke, they’re not true washes at all. They are designed (and often described) as being to refresh items that have not been worn at all. Do beware the small print as incorrect use of these sorts of cycles can easily cause damage to your laundry.

Hi
Most quick washes on machines are for small loads ie:- 2.5kg or less.
