i been used to doing hygena/diplomat for the last few years so new job new scenarios, A parkinson cowan slot in cooker which has a flap/baffle at the top back of grill/top oven. It has a connecting rod from top oven/grill gas valve which moves the flap back and forth. I presume the flap is to vent grill with door closed, does anyone have any better idea what it does? It is moving back and forth but I would not say that it achieves a fully closed position!
not to worry of it fully closing tight, its there to trap the heat in when customer selects to cook with top oven mode, works off a tapered disc behind the cotrol panel when top oven is selected, thus pushing the rod back to close the flap. but if the customer is complaining about poor cooking, it needs to be investigated. top oven usually about 190deg’sC at gas mk5, if this helps you.

ok thanks so it will be open then when grilling then and closed when top oven selected, its just that it doesn’t seem to fully close theres still about a half inch gap when closed anyway another engineer had been ther b4 me and ordered a little linkeing rod for flap but i had to leave job cos cust had to go out in hurry so ill have to go back, he says it takes forever to cook something, is it cos flap not closing fully?
