Yesterday I called in at local estate agents to leave my card with the lettings side in hope of some future work. As I introduced myself, she told me straight away that they have someone already who does it for them, which is fair enough. I passed her my card anyway and suggested that they may need me one day perhaps; she then asked me if I was part P competent. I replied no as you don’t need to be in the repair of white goods. She replied, “Yes you do, and we will only ever use a part P engineer”
At that point I just smiled, said I’ll leave it with you and I made my way to the door.
This can’t be right surely, I already do some work on behalf of estate agents and they have never said a thing about part B***dy P.
    Any feed back?
    Regards,
    Rob.

I think she’s talking out of her pretty little #rse! Part P is only to do with the integrity of the electrical system of the property and not what you plug into it.

Thats exactly what I thought! It’s probably her son in law that does the repairs or something.

There is a list of what you can and cant do on the web, You can swap over an oven / hob etc which is fixed wired and there is no other reference to any domestic appliances. 😛 Just make sure you dont get carried away and add another ring circuit or change the fuse board whilst your replacing the door seal on the washer, just to be sure :rolls:
