I am thinking of buying the Merloni DVD. Tried to get through to Hotpoint
but continuously engaged.Who can tell me …
Price?
Price of 2nd copy for Lap Top.?
Is there an optimum time to Purchase or are upgrades available.?
Is it worthwhile? ie Has it got all the Technical info including wiring diagrams and fault codes?Any Info much appreciated.
Thanks,

Price?£65 ex VAT for the soon to be released version.
mike412 wrote:Price of 2nd copy for Lap Top.?
The same price, you can get a second user licence for £5 but it only works on a network with a single install to a “server”.
mike412 wrote:Is there an optimum time to Purchase or are upgrades available.?
No, the upgrade is a new disk on the next release at the same cost.

Nope. Only spares lists and diagrams, unless the new one has been added to of course but no-one has one yet.

I bought the Partfinder (issue 5) last September for £82 figuring it would give me the usual 12 months usage. 🙄
Now it is apparent it’s only good for 6 months and that I now I must purchase an up-date already……… 👿
If I shell out the £50 plus VAT for Issue 6 by that same token I guess it will be only good for possibly 3 months useage this time???
Who knows?….David Hazzard maybe? 😕

We only have the one disc and has always been issued every Six Months
( It only last six months )
The New Disc has been reduced in price but you will have to fill the form in and fax back to 01733 340145
Regards Roy
Now before I get back to Roy, can someone confirm to me that the Partfinder discs always used to run for 12 months and not 6 months?I’ve been conned here I reckon by spending £82.25 last September on a disk that is about to go tits up on me after only 6 months 👿 👿 👿

Sadly the last three or four at least have only run for six months. 😥
had a look at some old cheque stubs. Paid £76.38 for Partfinder on 13/3/05..again on 3/09/05…If you think about it, issue 6 is due. They started with Version 1 to replace the original GDA versions when all the Indesit parts where included just under 3 years ago.

Yep, 6 months has been the case for at least the last two years 🙁

6 months has always been the case, even when original fasttrack.
Although fasttrack only cost £45 or even £40 plus vat.
The price this time round has dropped to £50 plus.
The extra setups are setup at Indesit, so if you require to install on three standalones then its an extra tenner plus vat and you have to validate each setup.March 23, 2006 at 5:07 pm #169037Martin

Well at least a reduction in overall price is a good thing so beggars can’t be choosers I suppose. It would be far better if they suppled all Partfinder disks free of charge to all those companies that purchase spares directly from them though 💡
Disks and up-dates do cost money I well realise but Indesit are really taking the proverbial nevertheless in their pricing both for the disks and their spares.
(Thinks) I wonder if Brian Cresswell is still around? I’ve not heard from Brian for quite a while now 🙄

Legally yes Mark, in effect you are only buying one license for your £65. the additional £5 only allows an extra terminal to access the £65 worth of goods as it were 😉
Personally I haven’t tried to validate another stand alone install where only the extra terminal fee has been paid to see if it works or not :duck:

Just received new Partfinder CD.
I have not used it on my old laptop for quite some time due to its age and limited ( 6 gig ) hard drive.I have just installed and validated the desktop online.
I have now installed it on my new laptop and using the same details, POST CODE/PHONE NUMBER. It installed and validated perfectly online and is up and running on both desktop & laptop now. 😀
I did pay the extra £5.00 for another validation key, but I think I may have wasted my money. I feel certain this would have validated on the laptop using the original details.
If someone else could try this it will save me £5.00 next time. 🙂

It will work but only the amount of times you pay the extra fiver 😉
In thoery, it should only be used on a network as a terminal for the extra as only one license has been paid for a full install 🙂

I do seem to remember setting up the old FastTrak on both my desktop and old laptop without any problems, but that was BM, 😉
Actually, the wording on page 2 of the leaflet that comes with the disc is rather vague.
First it says that,
‘Every issue must be setup before use and each PC ( or Network Terminal from which Partfinder will be accessed ) must be validated for that issue’but lower down it also says
‘[Standard] and [Optimum] setups conclude with a Validation dialog.
For [Full] setups Validation is optional.‘ 😕March 31, 2006 at 5:33 pm #169043eastlmark

I too have paid the fiver but not sure what for? In the old days we got a floppy disc for setting up the terminal but this time nothing. I validated both as did Jim. Have another laptop here, worth a try?
