can people answer the following –
1.who do you use most for spares -why ?
2.who do you use least – why ?
3.What things do you take in to consideration when ordering parts
i.e is it just price or is it delivery times etc etc ?
4.How frequently do you place orders ?
5.Do you hold accounts or pay as you go ?June 14, 2015 at 1:25 pm #428153Andy jones

People not working with this generally and, no offence intended, haven’t a clue how much shipping actually costs…
http://www.royalmail.com/business/syste … 2015_0.pdf
Just go to page 5, Standard Post.
The minimum that door seal example will cost to ship is £2.80 by small packet post. Excluding the packing and labour to put it in the bag or box as well as printing the label, accounting for it and all the rest.
So, to ship that’s gonna cost you about £4-5 roughly.
And, that’s second class post that has an “estimated” delivery window of 2-5 days, no tracking or much of anything, it’s as basic as basic a service can be.
I would argue that to have up to 22-25kg worth delivered next day for less than a tenner or free with over £50-100 worth of what are trade sales isn’t just cheap, it’s a bloody bargain!

ParticipantRe: Parts prices
1) qualtex and connect equal amounts. Price mainly or one of them stocks the dearest part I need for that order.
2) only use the two above.
3) price and availability, did use to be qualtexs’ 5pm cut off was the deal breaker.
4) 2 orders a week.
5) account qualtex / pay as I go connect.June 16, 2015 at 8:56 pm #428158simon26r

1.who do you use most for spares -why ?
Qualtex as they are normally cheapest 90{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time. I would use masterpart.com but they never have any stock. Sometimes ebay as sent first class and cheaper than any supplier
2.who do you use least – why ?masterpart because they never have a full order in stock
3.What things do you take in to consideration when ordering parts
i.e is it just price or is it delivery times etc etcMost importantly is if its in stock then the price. Delivery charge does bug me.
4.How frequently do you place orders ?between 1 and 4 a week
5.Do you hold accounts or pay as you go ?Qualtex have an account thats why they normally win my orders. Masterpart and connect pay as i go

1 Connect best prices and next day delivery.
2 Masterpart poor stock availability.
3 Stock availability and delivery lead times.
4 Connect order goes everyday, Qualtex about once a fortnight.
5 Hold accounts for all suppliers.

1 Connect best prices and availability.
2 Qualtex poor stock availability.(though prices are keen)
3 Stock availability , price and delivery lead times.
4 Connect order goes every other day, Qualtex about once a week.
5 Hold accounts for all suppliers.
The late cut-off used to generate more business for Qualtex.

1. Connect, Qualtex and Masterpart dependant on price and availability. If am only ordering one small part Ill do a direct delivery to myself to get lower cost on delivery from Connect. Masterpart has best prices but not always the stock, Qualtex generally wins on stock and price, Connect has most stock but can be most expensive.
2. Masterpart often no stock
3.Price and availability
4.Daily
5.Hold accountsDecember 11, 2015 at 10:42 am #428162Allsorts
