    Good morning everyone,

I was wondering what guarantees people are giving on the parts they fit these days?.
We have always given a one year warranty, but with the poor quality of a lot of parts at the moment I am thinking I am going to reduce that to six months.

    Thanks

always done 6 months but have a bit of slack in that

if i feel a part should not have gone in 7 or 8 months will change it anyway

this is also the reason i fit less pattern parts these days, they just dont have the quality anymore

I have always tried to fit genuine parts where possible, but even the quality of some of them raises doubts.

6 months generally with a bit of flexibility for regulars. No warranty on bosch heat pumps though even though i still get to replace a lot of them.

12 months parts & labour, although I would extend to 24 months or more as goodwill if I felt the part I fitted was inherently faulty. The customer is entitled to a free repair anyway if the part fitted was of unsatisfactory quality. I can’t remember many jobs that I’ve had to redo. Probably less than a dozen n 15 years that have been down to parts failure. The only significant issue I’ve experienced is with Electrolux washer dryer blower fans seizing, so I buy them as required direct from Electrolux as they replace the part withoit quibble up to 12 months.

    6 months parts and labour.

I ‘ve been grateful it was only 6 months, recently had a customer trying to get a new Beko fan element nearly a year later despite thrashing it every day with 4 kids.
Replaced a new one for her, just hope it lasts more than 6 months again
