Problem is Dave, a lot of people just don’t care about anything bar price. So long as it’s cheap, they’re happy.

but have no idea of the difference.

use pattern parts and you will need to dust more often so more work. am sure no one thinks of that
but also the gen parts in some cases are over priced

recently had a Dyson in the needed filters. on this machine there are 2 identical filters one either side of the ball. part no 966738-02

gen price to me £25 each non gen price £8.60 madness. which would you chose? the one that makes the machine unrepairable or the one that doesn’t

Thing is, a lot of pattern parts are fine. A good number of them are identical but when it comes to ones that sell in volume and are worth manufacturing it can be a whole different story, as is often the case with bags and filters.
