Paying for it

Well Dave and I were talking a week or so ago about paying for the hosting that Li so kindly does for UKW and the mailing list. Not that Li wants anything for doing it but I have to say that given the bandwidth we’re using I really feel obliged to offer something to the man, even if it is not asked for.

Anyway, the plan is to ask all the people using the forums and the list to simply donate a few quid and give it to Li. If he donates it to charity or buys the kids a nice present then so be it but I really think that we should make the gesture for xmas time. To that end, since the DASA council see fit to nominate JP as treasurer I can see no reason to contravene that logic in any way at all and my nomination for dealing with the cash is JP.

Yep Li has done us all an excellent service by hosting this site, and after a certain person(s) unknown shut down the Yahoo forum, Li stepped right in and offered his services for the mailing list, which was set up in a matter of hours IIRC, and to think he wants nothing in return says a lot for the guy. A gesture of goodwill is the very least we can do.

Any ideas on how to present the idea to the rest of the site members and the mailing list members (many of which use both).
