The WorldPay Pay as you go Card Acceptance Pilot is not currently available with iPhone/iOS.
We are hoping to roll out to iPhone/iOS from Q4 2012, and you should check back to this site regularly for any updates. They say.August 18, 2012 at 4:28 pm #379184waters

We use ours with a samsung galaxy.World pay gave us a free card reader and i think customers trust this more ,im not sure a customer would like handing over a credit card to be used with a phone.Good feedback from our customers and they like how it sends them a text.We are under contract for one with cardsave because we didnt know about the free World pay one ,but we only use the Worldpay one because its so quick and easy

Hi Guy’s I’m new here but you might want to have a look at scansfer payment app which once you’ve added your PayPal details and invoice amount it creates a bar-code on your smart phone. Customer can then scan it with there smart phone and pay with there PayPal account or with there credit card. I’ve used it a few times now and it works great. 😯

I’m glad this popped up again as it reminded me to tell you all this as I got an invite to Beta test iZettle as, on their help they have a FAQ on the chip and pin thing that is good, it says…
iZettle wrote:Why doesn’t iZettle use PINs?
According to EMV (the global standard for chip-card payments) there are several methods for verifying a cardholder. One is PIN and another is signature. We use the signature method since PIN is currently not accepted for mobile devices.
The reason for this is that PIN entry must only be conducted on PIN entry terminals that are certified as compliant with the Payment Card Industry PIN Transaction Security (PCI PTS) requirements. Currently, the keypads or touch screens on mobile devices are not capable of complying with the PCI PTS requirements.
So, I don’t reckon we’re going to see C&P for a long while yet on mobile devices sadly unless they couple and approved reader and keypad to numerous devices, which I can’t see as likely.
Which kinda bombs most of the debit cards. 🙁

Google WorldPay
Pay as you go Card Acceptance Pilot
As i said earlier, they supplied the equipment and its free .We had to ring for help to set it up and they went through set up step by step,
The chip and pin reader keypad is supplied free and unlike the beta you was on ,it accepts Visa.
The ones that fit on the mobile phone are only swipe and i dont think customers would trust these.August 23, 2012 at 10:05 pm #379190kwatt

No, but the Holy Grail mean interoperability between systems which, is at best difficult for the time being.
Most that are about now, like Credit Call and so on are basically a glorified terminal that uses your phone’s data plan rather than the card company’s which essentially benefits them, not you. From what I can see from it anyway although I have to admit not digging too deep into the marketing .
It sounds like you’re on a sorta low volume type scheme thing from what I can Google on it with limited abilities, as they all seem to be for now. 🙁

Unfortunatly i had just signed with Cardsave before i got with Worldpay trial.Cardsave is contract that will cost us £30 per month to rent the terminal and we are stuck with it for the year.We have used the two, and the free one is the one we prefer and are using.

Do you guys actually work out the rates and connection charges the likes of Paypal and Worldpay are ripping you off by? Don’t answer that as I’m sure each in turn will give good reasoning for their choosing. Needless to say that when Paypal come to town many will flock to their door to sign up. But the narrow profit margins generated in this business should not be frittered away to these sharks who charge top whack way above what you can get from most UK based merchant service companies.
And the issue of mobile terminal coverage continues to plague these systems anyway, but that’s another frustrating entity to add to the problem of course. :rolls:

Martin.. For those who only take a few card payments then it is a cheaper option. Mobile card machines £20 plus vat per month. That equates to 40 debit card payments which is cheaper than just the rental. Yes CC charge is higher but it all comes down to usage.
The other point is your not tied to a certain volume like most card payment companies if you don’t process X amount per month then you get hit by a monthly charge of £10-20 on top of your machine rental and at the end of the day.. If you don’t like it then you don’t pay for not using it. Unlike a contract when your still paying 24 months on.
