I came across this forum by internet search. I was looking to find out why the fridge part of my Ocean fridge/freezer was staying mostly between 10-12C. The discussion I found was back in 2006 and from what I learned there it does appear that my PCB is faulty. I want to send it for test/ repair but need advice on how to get the PCB out of the housing. The problem is the thermostat rheostat. The big selector knob comes off ok, but there is a plastic spindle part underneath, on the rheostat spindle, which is preventing the PCB lifting out. Does it just pull off? I am afraid excessive force will break it. Advice welcome. Model is Ocean APM 6823. PCB is BB601. Thanks
Yes, that’s the module. The spindle will not pull through the plastic housing and let the PCB come free, as there is a plastic ‘top hat’ sitting on the spindle shaft, underneath the big temp selector dial. Will that just pull off the shaft with sufficient force, or will it break?
