Participantdoes anybody remember the old halifax built philips washing machines, i was trained back in the late eighties by philips when it was at waddon. The machines were built like tanks with permag motors, propper timers and simple electronics. has anybody seen any lately? i still go out to a customer in hampstead that has an old top loader-awb117 that she bought in 1982 and still going strong. this was actually a french made macine but with a lot of same parts as the halifax machines. Shame the quality went down after whirlpool took them over

the hn3156 bring back memories. motor with a clutch, the heater toc that cut out on spin but these machines were indestructable, superseded by the awb103, then the 117, 147 &149 then the awg090. Changed many tanks on these as the bearings wore out it melted the tank! I left the company when they transfered us to local service partners. Yes it is a indoor karting track now. You must of stayed in the markington hotel.

Many times !
if i recall , it was almost exclusive to philips …. until a group of young trainees caused havoc with fire extinguishers etc ; that was the down side to allowing guests to drink their evening meal allowances , i guess 😆 .
their in house video channel was something else too – tame by todays internet offerings, but in those days quite blue !As for the hn3156 , i still have a bag of ball bearings from the clutches somewhere – they will come in handy some day i bet 😆
