    Hi all
Above with broken front door trim and handle(in pieces). Cannot get spring to fit on new door handle and not sure how it goes together. Does anybody know how the spring fits between trim and handle? The only way i can see it is that the two open ends of the clothespeg type spring fit into the handle/latch and the looped end pushes hard against the rim of the door trim (judging by the hole that has blown out of the old door trim.

    Cheers
    Simon 😳

you need patience on this one, keep trying you can usally find it fits after a number of trys.

always note how the spring was positioned before removing old one.

Thanks Graham. Unfortunatly tried to look for evidence of spring marks on old door (in bits)but the customer had lost the broken pieces. Have fitted door now. Time will tell.

    Many thanks

If it is a pattern part you may find it does not fit properly anyway. Bendix/Philco used to use a spring made of sheet metal at one time and some pattern versions of the spring were completely useless.
