    Hi,

I inherited a Philips Double oven about 6 years ago when I moved house.

It calls itself a “System 600”. I can’t find any model or serial number on it; it looks like the ratings plate has been removed (two small looking rivet holes unfilled beneath the main oven opening when the door is opened)

The door hinges for the main oven are worn out – they won’t hold the door quite shut so a lot of heat leaks out. The rest of the oven works just fine.

Any ideas how I can get a model number, or otherwise get new hinges (they look like the standard modern fold-down oven hinges, but doubtless are Philips specific in some way) ? The spares people won’t do anything without the model number …

    Thanks
    Derek

    Re: Philips double oven

System 600 is the brand name Magnet Kitchens used, as this is Philips branded and the company are now Whirlpool and have been for some years it’s a very old model.

If your local spares guys are able to return spares should they be incorrect, ask them to use the model AKG210 as this will be the most likely and all of the ovens of that range used the same hinge, you’ll also need the hinge runners.

    Hinge part number 4819 417 18965
    Hinge runner 4819 417 18907

    Hope this helps.

    Dave.

Thanks – that’s great. I’ve been to a couple of websites and I have some photos to compare. Looks good.

    Thanks again

Replacement hinges turned up yesterday. Fitted and all working nicely. Many thanks.
