    Hi

My Philips GC8225 steam generator is producing steam on and off. It seems to work for a couple of minutes then the steam stops. I noticed the water tank is emptying really quickly and when I opened the calc-clean cap the steam tank is very full, is that normal?

Any ideas would be really appreciated.

4 years old and probably well scaled up by now, but have a look HERE for a possible solution.

    Hi Martin

Thank you for the reply. I do this on a regular basis and looks clear. It worked for a over an hour this morning after I emptied the steam tank but stopped again. It is making a popping noise before it stops steaming.

    Lime scale build-up I should imagine. 🙁

    Hi again Martin,

Think it is probably overworked 😛

I live in a soft water area and I do rinse out the steam tank often as well as clean the sole plate. I tried using diluted white vinegar this morning but no difference. I thought about get a product to descale but if the steam isn’t working not sure that would be any good either.

Thanks again for taking time to reply.
