Philips/Whirl wash motor

My customer has a AWB 947/2 washer, about 12 years old. The fault is the motor brushes have gone. In the 16 or so years I’ve been doing this job. I have never had to replace these brushes before.

Can anyone tell me
a. Are the brushes replaceable, if so how, does the brush housing unscrew? it looks like it might crack if any pressure is put on it. Or do I have to change the complete end of the motor?

b. Are parts still available, or are they obsolete? It would be a shame the rest of the machine is as if it had come straight out of a showroom

They have just had a change of part number from 481931088019 to 481281729457. £19.83 retail for the pair.
