please spend at least 30 SECS on any web site you click on ,
as google thinks web site isnt good if you just click on it and then imediately hit the back button ..

if you pm me with your link i will include it in ths post so we have all the links together

ps … one of the best ways to get seen on google free of charge is have a listing in google local places .

Cool stuff Ally and no mistake. Cannot fault your website by the way, top notch stuff and Google friendly too! Not so sure on your YouTube overkill but hey, way ahead on your competitors that’s for darn sure!

I didn’t miss your overall point though on web site presence and speaking personally in that regard I have splashed my web site all over the web, over the years. Including the WTA site where I’m not even a member… 😀 (You watch someone close by will now delete that link having read this… tut tut 😉 )

as you will probally guess all this stuff costs money web design seo etc
and some will say you can it yourself , which you can if you have the time.

generally i consider the video marketing the way forward as hats what most people are searching watching etc …

get your point on youtube , will streamline when i get a chance ..

we have an excelent opertunity here to network all of our web sites simply by visiting each others web when you have a bit of spare time whilst on ukw ..

as most of us are 1 -2 man bands its very hard to compete with the big boys with reguards to online marketing, so every little bit of help to keep all of our sites high and google freindly comes in handy..

the big guns may have the £££££ , but they dont neccessary have the click power , so hope fully by ukw members visiting any site listed we can compete at no cost , how good is that .

the video seo is not my doing unfortunatley i pay for that along with my other web seo stuff…

Well…

I could tell you that doing this within this forum was more or less wasted effort. But, if you know anything about SEO then you should already know that.

I could also tell you that the video won’t really make a whole lot of difference. What will is the inbound link from YouTube to the site, so long as the video isn’t pulled. But, if you know a bit about SEO then you should already know that.

I could also tell you how to use UKW to actually get web traffic and, I could probably tell you how to get better targeted results. But, if you know something about SEO then you should already know how to do that.

Or I could whack up a site and tell you how to do that and charge for doing it… hmm, there’s an idea… 😉

Or I could charge even more just to do it for people… I’m liking this even more. 😉

Tell you what, I guarantee to get you a top ten ranking on Google (or the small print will say that if that isn’t possible any old search engine will do) and you can pay me mega wonga for doing it. Sound fair?

Or, you could read back what I’ve said on here in the past and it’s almost a guide of “how to get the most traffic from a popular site”, like this one.

Or, alternatively, to save a lot of pain for me writing it all again you could just come along to the UKW meeting is September, buy me a Jack & Coke once it dies down a bit and I’ll tell you how to do it, free. Now that idea sounds like a plan to me. 🙂

And, if Andy Trigg is there you can pump him for information in exchange for rum as well. 😉

SEO is, as I often remind people, including a couple of corporations recently is, at best, a black art mixed with pixie dust and magic if you don’t know what you’re about and, at worst just a total nightmare. TBH, it’s an almost full time occupation if you want it to be so and you don’t get accurate results and stats for months. What you see here in the first couple of months or so, is scans by spiders or bots as they are also known, each of which registers a page view or “hit”. What you define as a “hit” is open to debate and interpretation in some camps and it’s easy to fudge the figures, some companies will do that so you think you’re getting great results when in fact, you’re not.

What I will say however is that a website these days is, IMO, essential as a medium to promote what you do and where.

havn messed with it a little i know i dont have the time or the knowledge to comprehend the black art and pixie dust k talks about ,

so i have placed my faith in what i would say is a fairly good seo co ..the videos i have are only a tiny bit of what goes on behind the scenes , the seo co i use spend 40 hours a month on my seo/ black art activities ..

of course i would love to have this all for free watch out k …and andy trigg … ahhhaaaaaaaa…

ps , ukw could offer a viable low cost solution to members who want their web sites ranked in google , dont know how it would work but im sure member would rather deal with someone they know ??

TBH Ally, £40 isn’t an hour from a decent web dude.

I spend days a month doing it and Andy just spends his life at SEO’ing. It’s not something you can do in an hour a month IMO.

And that’s why it’s not really something that can be offered as a service as it is incredibly time consuming to do right.

sorry k , the 40 was hours per month spent on seo ,
now corrected, seo costs triple the 40 and some more ,
i feel its worth it compared to what you could spend on add words etc .
