You all are entitled to a sort of explanation and the long and short of it is that, we ran out of cash to pay our way.

There are a few reasons and Im not really going into them now as I’ve had enough this week watching others gain by our demise. If you’re ever thinking of going bust….they charge around £4000 plus vat to wind you up. Its ironic that they get paid even though you’ve run out of dosh. If they dont recover it they just go to you personally. Seriously there is plenty you can do to minimise the effects and planning the exit is the key and the need for total secrecy, hence you lot did not know.

Another time, over a beer, I’ll be happy to chat to any of you here about any subject you like, for now Bridie and I would ask that you respect the situation we are in and keep the lid on it. There are those out there that want info and we ask you to keep the council in this forum, where I can be found easily.

Reading the earlier post saddens me. I hope W/Pool doesn’t say, “ I told you so”.

When I terminated Merloni they gave us 6 months without their income, they had pleasure in telling me that I was about to put good engineers futures as well as what they perceived as a nice business into jeopardy. My accountant gave me 6 months if I kept the Merloni work. Funny thing was they had no hesitation in shedding all the agents themselves a year later & bugger the engineers etc. then.

We were nearly there ourselves in 2002/2003 I lost loads of sleep & my drinking increased big time for over a year. I ran my credit cards to the limit & still paying them off.

I take my hat off to you Kevin, & I feel for you. I hope you bounce back all the stronger.

Just like Alex said I was one of the agents that got shafted by Merloni 12 months after. 40{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the workload disappeared within a month when they gave the work to gda and the icing on the cake was that we lost another 20{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} two months later when mr moat at servis uk did a similar deal with gbdar. Had it not been for you and one or two others on this site giving me advice and helping me to recoup some work, such as MFI and not to sign stupid contracts, then there but for the grace of god would go I.
Can I just wish both you & Bridie my very best wishes. I know you are already working on the next venture, you will have planned for this i’m sure, your just too canny a lad not to have.
Hope to see you both again soon in the not too distant future.

Thanks for the support and bear with the two of us as we work this out.

We do not intend to go anywhere and have made plans and have had tremendous support from site admin (X 2).

I’ll try not use the excuse “I’m skint” when its my round at the ukw meeting. Borrow the dosh of ken 😆

Just goes to show what a shower of fucking bastards Merloni are, Sitting like Vultures on the fence waiting to pick up a few of Kev’s engineers.
It is obvious that the fact that they are trying this out in Sheffield is no accident and that they view this site to get their information.
I just hope the free advertising we have just given them on the topic will help to fuck em up.

In some ways we probably just got even Del. 😉

Now no-one reading the forums is going to touch them, if they have an ounce of sense about them, and even if they do they’ll be very suspicious of the whole deal from the outset of the thing. Which is great.

It also means that if they are forced to come crawling back to the independents they had better pony up and make a decent offer or, at best, they’ll get sporadic cover. At worst little cover at all and being forced to go through any of the handling agencies like ISDAL, AIS or NESN they’ll be forced to pay over the odds. So basically, in many ways they’re backed into a corner if they are indeed stuck for cover.

It is interesting that you posted this in here though, as it may well affect Whirlpool as well since they’re going to be struggling to get cover in the area too and this will only serve to heighten that shortage. And I think it’s great, with any luck both of them will get fucked over in this! 😆

We’ll see what shakes out the tree.
