    Hello

My friend has a Hoover AXI washer/dryer. She told me that the door wouldn’t close, so yesterday, I went to look at it. Turns out that the plastic that the mounting screw goes into had snapped and the entire interlock had come away. As I pulled the interlock out of the machine, a long piece of white plastic came with it.

It is similar to a wide cable tie, with a semi-closed hook at one end, which is hooked around a slider at one side of the interlock and (I assume) operates a switch at the bottom of the interlock (The interlock is numbered DK514405). The other end of this plastic, has two short, thin arms sticking out to the sides and a hole at the end. I have no idea what it is for, or where it goes. As I said, the hook end goes on the interlock, but I cannot find anything to put the end with the hole onto.

    Can anyone please help?

    Thank you.

It sounds like the emergency door opener

one end hooks on the interlock , the other end on most machines can be accessed by the owner inside the filter flap

if you have the owners manual it should show you where its expected to be

Ordered the interlock and should be here tomorrow. Yes it seems obvious now that you told me what it’s for (just did seem it at the time). Thank you very much for your help,it is greatly appreciated 🙂
