Sorry for the long winded post but wanted to detail as best I could…
Hi, I have a Bosch classixx 1200 express washing machine. On the previous successful wash there was a strange sound as if something metal was catching/scratching at certain speeds of the wash. The wash came to an end and everything was fine. I opened up the door of the machine to find a 5p coin and a metal button had gathered in the door-seal . I removed them and thought that must have been the scratching sound (although the sound appeared to coming from deeper within the machine rather than hitting the glass of the door). So, I loaded the machine again and set it to the normal wash cycle, again I heard the scratching sound but also a sound like grinding/humming or electrical current arching, I left the machine to continue but keeping an eye out for burning smell etc but the wash completed ok and beeped when finished. I went to unload the clothes to find they were soaked, it obviously hadn’t completed the spin cycle, so I closed the door and set it to the spin cycle – although it sounded like it was clicking through the cycle properly the drum wasnt going round and just made a humming sound so I turned it off at the mains to see it that would reset anything and tried again, same problem. I then drained the pump? in the bottom right front panel and found a wire hair clip in there, I removed this and set it to spin again but still no movement and just this low sounding humming sound. Having looked online I tried to manually turn the impeller? plastic blade with a screwdriver and found that there is slight resistance then it will spin about a quarter turn then another quarter turn etc, is this correct or should it spin freely?
I am pretty hands on and am able to take apart under guidance so please let me know what I need to do to give a better understanding of the fault. The machine has worked fine for years but all of a sudden has stopped and I can’t help but think that the hair clip found its way in the machine and has caused this….please help!!!!
    Many thanks in advance

    Look here 😉

Be sure to remove the plug if you intend to have a look yourself.

PS. Don’t keep trying it, you could make it worse.
