I have a new Beko CFG3582S Fridge Freezer. I made a stupid mistake and plugged it straight in after it had been delivered horizontally. I had left it on for about eight hours before I realised I shouldn’t have done this.

I had some advice to unplug it for a few hours to let the gasses settle. 24hrs later, it’s now working better, I’m getting temps of 2-3c on the top shelf and 1-2c on the bottom, but this was at the max setting. On the recommended 3 setting, I’m getting about 5c on the top and 4c on the bottom shelf. Is this about right? Will there be any long-term damage from this?

Its nothing to do with gasses settling, its about the oil in the compressor, if tilted too far the oil can run into parts of the pipework where it does not belong and the gas once the unit is started can cause excess oil to be pumped around the pipework and can then cause a blockage, yours sounds ok from your description on how its cooling, always leave units to remain upright for at least 4 hours before plugging in if they are newly delivered.

Last night it got up to 8c on the top shelf, but I was cooking in the kitchen an it was quite hot in there and in and out of the fridge a lot. Is this to be expected? Now 6c on top shelf 4c on bottom. 6c is a little warm I think?

Can anyone advise on the is please? Still 6-8c on top shelf, 4-5 on bottom. Turning up to 4 takes it down a degree, but stil over 6c sometimes, even after being closed overnight. Is this normal? I though it should be 5c at most.
