Okay, since this is friendly territory…
Martin had an enquiry from a journalist the other day, which I kinda had a feeling would happen but not so soon. How are we to deal with such contacts? Personally and, I know Kevin agrees, I feel we should discuss and formulate a reply even if it is only two or three of us that do so. It means the response is more metered and balanced I think.
Martin graciously answered the chap properly, as I expected, but it may be a subject we have to think about carefully in future.
The thing is, that when we do publish the results of “The Engineer’s Opinion” I have a sneaking suspicion that we’ll get some attention, maybe not right away but I do think it will happen. Now, cards on the table, there is a chance that UKW could get some revenue from the data and, by default, that puts some cash in the pot and we’ll have to perhaps be a bit more cagey with that in time. Just a thought.
I also don’t think that a lot of the guys have quite tumbled to the fact that that survey could be one of their most powerful assets, hell even the spares one could shake the tree more than a bit!
Anyway, as moderators, your names are in lights as it were so you’re liable to be approached by the media and people within the industry seeking information. Just be careful is all I’m trying to say.
