    Hello,

A few days ago we heard a popping sound coming from the kitchen, it sounded like a cork popping out of a bottle. The other day I was in the kitchen when it happened and the dishwasher had been on. When I opened it I think it must have been on the dry cycle. We tried the dishwasher again but this time it blew the house fuse. :rolls: Not used it since.

Does anyone know what could be wrong with my dishwasher and what part I may need.

    Thanks in advance

    Sam

Almost certainly the mains suppressor in the rear right corner letting go. You’ll need one of THESE.

    Hi

Thanks for that, could you tell me what the main suppressor does? Also where abouts is it located (inside unit, underneath unit, in door)? I’ve been told it could be the heating element also, but the water does get heated up, it only seems to POP when its in the drying cycle.

It’s a smoothing device – using the capacitance principle, it’s what stops your television disappearing in snow. They blow up for fun. It’s located in the bottom rear right of the machine. Easiest access is remove the right hand side panel.

    Power off, of course.

Looks like it is the main suppressor. It has cracked right through. Many Thanks for that. A+
