Wales.” It’s all over the internet. But I can’t find any more details anywhere. Obviously quite a rare occurrence if it makes the news. Is that an indication that washing machines are safer now than they’ve ever been? :stir:

Or is it that I’ve just got too much time on my hands?

I saw that,we had a power surge during last years snow fall, most electrical gear in the house right down to phone chargers went bang or melted.
When the power was eventually restored the company working on the mains supply sent an engineer to carry out a full house wiring check as he said it can damage the house wiring let alone the appliances! switched the dishwasher on and clouds of smoke billowed from the built in dishwasher, didn’t burst into flames but looked quite dramatic.
They had an impressive young lad repairing all the damaged components on the mains supply sections of the appliance boards as opposed to replacing complete boards etc, soldering iron boxes of components.
That job would have suited you Mike.

Ha ha! It certainly would have suited me if I was about 30 years younger! Don’t think I’d ever get a job if I went looking now. Shelf filler at B&Q maybe 😆 if they don’t go bust.
    Mike.
