ParticipantHi,
I have a zanussi jetsystem 1600 WJS 1665W which stopped half way on a hot cotton wash. We had the programmer and related cables replaced on it and a clean through and everything seemed fine. Now it is tripping out the earth trip on the fuse box, as soon as the power switch is pushed it trips out and we cant open the door for the washing…..any ideas?
thanks 🙁

I would suspect that that is where the fault lies? Needs looking at again that’s for sure in case a wire has come adrift or whatever. 😉

I was able to check the wires but nothing seemed adrift, once i got the door open everything seemed fine, switched it on and no power trip…great…but as soon as i shut the door the power trips.
The red light briefly comes on next to the door lock and then trips so could this be the safety lock on the door or something internal connected to the door…any help would be great thanks 😕

Sounds like the door lock. Don’t keep trying it, you risk other damage. This should be the one you need:

Well i fitted the new door lock but i still get an earth trip at the fuse board. Any other ideas??? I have tried everything right up until i shut the door and then it trips, even tried with the door open and i can hear the door lock clicking so it is working.
Any help would be great as our young kids clothes are starting to stink! 😛

If the machine does not work after fitting the new door lock then i can only assume the pcb board has a fault or has blown…am i right
I dont want to get one and find its not at fault or could it be something else….is there any way of testing the machine, i know you can put it into diagnostic mode but would this tell me what has gone wrong…thanksMay 23, 2007 at 10:46 pm #213768aqualectric

You will need to test the main components individually with an insulation test meter to establish where the fault lies. Do not buy any spares until this has been done. The PCB will not blow the trip itself, but the components it supplies will. Diagnostics will not show a short as the trip goes before you can set them up.

Couldn’t the engineer that called on you quote for that?
