    Hi!

My washing machine Servis Elmarc (labelled 47 2 EV, 45DX 85DX 85SX, AE1447, IV/15/2004) does not start anymore. No lights, no movement.
The cables at pins 14 and 11 of the pressure switch hd505 are burnt.
The cable at pin 16 looks normal.
Would it help to replace this pressure switch by a new one?
Actually, I found a perfect lookalike in the store, 520000400 – Servis & Diplomat Washing Machine Pressure Switch, execpt that mine is labelled 520011202, Metaflex HD505-T85ยต, 12-72-280. Is that the same?

Could there be another defect in the machine caused by this?
The machine worked normally until recently but I think the washing
cycles became shorter and it did not clean everything perfectly. What could have caused this?

    Cheers
    Berta

    Re: Pressure switch HD505

I can’t say I have ever come across a pressure switch with burnt out external terminals. Slightly tarnished look to them, maybe. If the terminals were burnt, the tags would be too. Discoluration is due to the heater load in most cases and it’s not usually a fault. The shorter wash / poor wash quality could be the absence of heated water.
But if the machine is set to a program, press start, the door locks but otherwise it is completely dead, then it’s the PCB that’s failed. Very common problem on Servis machines and not a cheap fix either. You also have to consider that Servis went bust over a year ago. Not good…. :rolls:
Move it on and buy something better…..please!

    HTH,

    Steve.
