Prima LPR600 Dishwasher not starting just beeping

I have a fitted Prima LPR600 dishwasher that was working fine until one day it refused to start. The START button light is flashing all the time and the program light is on RINSE. As soon as the door closes it keeps beeping away while it sounds like a pump kicks in but soon after the noise of the pump stops and the beeping continues until the door is opened. Inside is dry.

I’ve tried resetting, unplugging etc and no joy. The pipes seem to be ok from what I can see but access is tricky as the dishwasher has been ‘fitted’ a little too well.

Taking the filter out from the bottom there seems to be some water collected so is this the ‘flooded base’ I see mentioned? (haven’t managed to pull it out and tip it back yet).

Thanks for any help you can offer. I haven’t had much joy tracking down PRIMA customer services.

The “flooded base” problem is the undertray of the machine filling with water. A float switch mechanism will over-ride the programme and run the drain pump continuously. Draining the tray will reset the float switch, but you must find out why it leaked in the first place.

Do nothing without pulling the plug first.

For your reference, this dishwasher is manufactured by Whirlpool if you need any spares etc.

Hiya, There is always some water left in the filter area, this is not what is referred to as “flooded base”. You need to count the number of flashes between pauses, this will give us an indication of the possible problem.

Thanks for your advice. Sounds like I’m going to need an engineer to visit.

As far as the flashes go, there is no pause as such. It simply flashes continuously every other second or so.

I’ll pull it out tomorrow and see if I can have a poke around a bit.

OK, that’s a single flash which indicates a problem with the NTC.
Remember to unplug it before doing anything to it.

Looking at other posts for NTC it certainly looks like I’ll be needing to give Whirlpool a ring. Thanks for your help!
