Hello all
I have a Prima LPR965 Gas Hob in which 2 thermocouples have failed. The symptoms are that the two rear gas burners refuse to stay alight as soon as the ignition button is released. I assume that this is down to the thermocouples not keeping the gas valve open when the tip of the thermocouple is heated.
A sticker on the bottom of the hob states that the hob is made by Whirlpool. The actual hob looks remarkably like an Indesit PAA642IX/WE.
Does anybody know if the thermocouple for the Indesit hob would fit the Prima hob?
The reason why I ask is that the price of the Prima thermocouple is over £35 each (Indesit are charging over £40!) whereas the ones for the Indesit are less than half that price.
It’s just uneconomic to buy two thermocouples for £70 when a brand new Indesit PAA642IX/WE can be had for £100. I’d much rather repair than replace but the price just doesn’t make that an option.
Thanks
