    Hi,

I am currently trying to unscrew the water inlet filter on my old Miele dishwasher from the water supply, but I am finding it very difficult to move it. Are there any special techniques or tool to loosen it off with? I tried to turn it anti-clockwise with some mole grips but got knowhere.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Sounds silly but try tightening it first, might just free it

Thanks for the reply, have tried both ways but I am wondering as it has been there for 10 years if it is stuck firm. Is it definitely anti-clockwise to loosen it? Also would spraying something like WD40 on it have any benefits?

    Cheers

anti clockwise yes and yes to WD40 and leave over night to soak in. Could also try a hairdryer to heat the nut then pour cold water over it, expansion contraction type thing, might just loosen it

I will try WD40 first and see if it does the trick, otherwise will try the hairdryer approach and cross my fingers and toes.

    Thanks for the advice.
