Hi I have a problem recently after I defrosted the freezer.

Previously I had the fridge setting to 5 and water would form and run down the back of fridge and freezer got a large amount of Ice.

After switching back on with the setting to less than 1.
as soon as you switch it on the motor starts running.

Ice forms in the back of the fridge. I have tried defrosting the fridge again but after 1-2 days Ice is all over the top of the fridge and also on the right hand side just over the water runner.

The green cleaning peg is free and as far as I can see the hole is not blocked.

what stat would be required for this model if you think that is the problem

    purchased about 2003

    Model ER78311
    Type B256940
    Prod 925 684 601
    Serial 2010 0358

    Hi

If you have a ball or block of ice forming then it’ll be an insulation failure around the evaporator suction line. Most engineers would right off the appliance due to time and mess it can make. But it can be cut out and redone.

But if you have a large area of thick snow forming all over and the doors are sealing correctly then it’s likely that the evaporator has come away from the liner which is then BER

I do not have a ball or block of ice, Just like a covering of ice that you would expect to melt when the fridge defrosts (it never does now)
the only solid ice is as if it starts to defrost a a run of water freeze’s near the drainage channel.

no problem with door seals and fridge does not ice up any more than usual.

we have fully defrosted the freezer about one a year at most frequent and maybe only about 5 times since 2003.

    what does BER mean.

so is the thermostat not faulty at all?
