I have an integrated Frost free fidge/freezer model APM 6855 bought from howdens about 18months ago.

Today freezer alarm starts to actuate showing -08, had a look at the instructions and it states it wil actuate from -10. As i write this the temperature has now droped to -05.

I have searched for problems with this model number. I can only find a few related to the freezer, but none of them are conclusive in identifying the problem. There are however plenty of people who have had problems with the fridge showing high readings. (this has not happened to me as yet)

In the last couple of weeks it has appeared to be running with a loud noise being generated every now and then maybe when the compressor cuts in or out.

Would be grateful if anyone could give me an indication as to what maybe the problem and if they have had any similar problems with this model of fridge freezer.

My gut feeling is to buy a replacment, but if it is going to be relativly simple to repair and not to expensive then I may do this.

Many thanks for your time in reading my post and I look forward to hearing your comments

    Kind regards
    Donald

    Re: Problem with Freezer

thanks for your reply, I have tried going back to suppliers but no luck as they say it is outwith the guarantee period.

Do you think it is worth getting an engineer to lok at it or should i bite the bullet and purchase another freezer?

If you think i should buy a new one what would your recommendations be? price range probably £400 – £600.

I noticed somebody else has posted the same problem as I have been having but no answers to there questions as yet.

    Thanks for your help
