    Hi

I had a new Hotpoint integrated FF fitted 9 months ago.

There have been problems with the fridge door – the door panel fitted on front (with sliders) was at a slight angle so would close very close to the adjacent cupboard.

Sometimes this meant it didn’t close properly if attention wasn’t paid e.g people pushing door closed & turning away without checking it had closed properly.

After several return visits by different fitters, recently it seemed to have been cured – new hinge & panel now sitting nice & straight.

But tonight I noticed the door has to be given an extra push for the last few inches of closure angle – there is some resistance now at this point.

Have checked but can’t really so cause of this.

The only thing I have noticed is that after the recent repair (when it was closing freely), if I looked sideways into hinge area, the top hinge was visible between door & panel (e.g. slight gap), but bottom one wasn’t.

    Now both are visible.

What has happened ? Is it something I can fix easily or do I need to get the fitter out AGAIN (4th time now..) ?

Hope the explanation is clear – with this hot weather I want to get it sorted once & for all !

    Thanks

Sounds like the door or the unit itself has moved so, it’ll need refitted sadly.

    Damn

How much would it cost to get someone else to fix this once and for all ?

Not got a clue, it will depend on where you are and who’s around you.

You could try the engineer search to get someone locally but there are a number that won’t do integrated installations because of the problems you’ve had, it can be a bit of a hassle if you’re not used to it.
