ParticipantHi all,
I wonder if you can help. Over the last few weeks my Miele Platinum 6 is showing an error message, it is intermitent, sometimes it comes up with the following error, water intake fault, check stopcock is open.
I have checked and cleaned the filter, there seem to be no kinks in the inlet hose. Could it mean that the filters in the hose need cleaning or is it something I might need an engineer in to have a look at?
Thanks for any advice.

usually means machine is not filing up in a set time can be down to poor water pressure or something else in your house maybe taking the water away from it ie running a bath shower etc etc whilst the machine is trying to fill with water. There is usually a way of programming the machine for “low water pressure” which extends the time for the machine to fill up in check your manuall sometimes customer can do it in the custmer settings sometimes you need an engineer.
hope this helps

Hi Phil,
Thanks for the advice, I will check this out later on when I get home, strange as it seems to happen even if we aren’t using any water and the tap water pressure seems fine. The only think that has changed recently is we had a new Valiant Boiler fitted, can’t see that taking all the water though.
I’ll let you know my findings.

Hi,
I tried to find what you suggested re low water pressure, but there are no settings, also it seems the Miele is autosensing and can work with extremely low water pressure. As I said before the pressure to me seems fine. Any other ideas or I guess I will have to contact an engineer, I think Glotech is recommended by yourselves?
Thanks
Justin

There will be some sort of low pressure setting in the programming but you may need an engineer. before you do that turn off water supply to machine undo inlet hose and check little micro filter where the seal is sometimes if youve had pipework done it can disturb the sedement in the pipes and block the filter giving a restricted flow to machine failing that call an engineer.
Helo you know miele never go wrong 😉phil

Thought I would let you know I booked an engineer to come over today but suddenly over the weekend it started working normally again so finers crossed.
Once again appreciate the advice given

Well guess what it’s gone again! I was just feeling the cold water pipe connected to the washing machine, both the pipe and the hose feel hot, as it is only the cold water pipe that is connected should this be the case? The stopcock is labelled blue?
Just wondering if the heat in the pipe is just due to the flow of water under pressure entering the washing machine?
