I’ve been repairing washing machines for 17 years and with newer ones you always learn something new, I do suspect what the following problem is but just to make sure i want to see if others share the same.

I called to a house where the machine wasn’t spinning, the usual the brushes, the Siemens/Bosch seem to be hard on them..

Replaced them and off she went but when it comes to the spin( when displaying 11 mins) it starts off to spin ok and then the usual it stops to do another tumble before going into the final fast spin. But before it goes into the fast spin and the display is at 8 mins it suddenly goes to 0 and finishes and does it everytime..

I suspect the motor is faulty and the resistance has changed in it making the computer think there is no motor there, anyone else come across this??

Why don’t you apply for trade access?

By the way, the motor needs stripping and cleaning, clean the comm with a bedding stick and ensure the brushes are free in their holders. Any earth leakage will cause problems, megger to check. 😉

Yeah done all the comm cleaning etc, still does it. I reckon resistance has changed in the motor. The arcing from worn brushes must have damaged motor.
