I got this dishwasher about a year ago and it’s been fine until a couple of weeks ago.

I switch the machine on and for the first couple of minutes it works fine and the power button comes on. All of a sudden the power button goes off and the machine seems to stop the cycle but there is still a noise coming from it, like a motor is running or something. The dial doesn’t move round and the machine doesn’t seem to do anything. If I tilt the machine forward, out of the cupboard, so that the front of it is lower than the back, the light comes back on and the machine starts working again. If I switch the power button off the machine still makes the same noise, even though there’s no power. I actually have to use the switch on the wall to turn the machine off. Would anyone suggest getting someone to look at it or is it best getting rid of it?

Cut the power, lean the machine back to a good angle and wait for the water to stop running out of the base. This should reset the flood protection system. Then stop using tablets in the machine and go back to a powder. These little machines are always grossly oversoaped by tablets, as they are designed to be used in 12 setting, full sized machines. The resulting foam floods the base and sets off the flood protection system.

That’s great thank you very much for that. We were going to chuck it out and get a new one but will try that first. I did notice there was a lot of soap in the filter area. I’ll go and buy some powder. Once again thanks for replying, I appreciate it.
