ParticipantI have a Samsung side-by-side fridge freezer. A few weeks ago it occasionally made a strange noise that would stop when you opened the fridge door (it sounded like a very noise fan spinning down). The noise has stopped but I am now unable to regulate the fridge temperature. The display was flashing 4 or 5 for a while but when I unplugged the unit and then plugged it in again. it shows 14 or 15 degrees which I am sure is more like it as nothing is very cold. The freezer section is absolutely fine. Does anybody have any idea what this could be? ANy help much appreciated as I don’t want to go to the expense of calling in an engineer without at least some knlwledge of what the issue could be in the first place.

Also, I performed a test i was told about involving holding down the top 2 buttons for 10 seconds and the display shows only the bottom-most segment of the far-right numeric LED. If that helps……

Hi Craig
I believe it seems to be the same issue as other people are having in that the fan is freezing up in the back of the unit

Hi Craig
the bottom segment is the fan failure/jammed fault,it’ll probably need the evap cover or it could also be a defrost problem, more likely the evap cover though to be honest.
Nutty..!! check your fault code sheet.
