Hi there hope you guys can help. I have a whirlpool WHART817 fridge-freezer, the problem being it has stopped working. We have just moved house and transported the fridge-freezer on its side for about 15 miles to our new house. Before the move it worked fine but now, nothing. The round thing around the the back of the fridge is hot and what I assume is the compessor is constantly running but to no avail. The fridge seems to be heating up on the inside.
If it is a terminal problem what would be the ideal replacement brand wise. I don’t want to buy a cheap combi unit for it to break in 2 years time. Cheers for any help, Dean.Did you plug it straight back in after you moved it? If you did it’s probably blocked internally and whether it can be repaired or not is open to debate. 🙁
Transporting refrigeration on it’s side is not a good idea at teh best of times and it MUST be allowed to stand for at least 12 hours after moving it to let teh oil settle back down before running it.
