The most common is probably the 6224745 fan element that fits many Hotpoint/Creda/Belling cookers. I carry a wide range of cooker elements as they are often interchangeable [with a little manipulation]. They are so reasonable price that it seems daft not to carry a selection on the van. I rarely need to order a special order for an element, apart from some weird Bosch ones. I tend to charge £23.00 as a general price.

Any element is available if I can get the order to 100,majority of the grill elements will be less than £6 and fan elements round the £3.75 mark and that included the bosch/neff ones..

seems that there isn’t much call for virtually halving the cost of the elements you most commonly buy as only two people have replied.

Not rocket science to work out the 10 most common elements you buy…so why not save yourself money.

The most common elements I use are:
    WP 481925928583
    Mer 023884
    Cre 6224745

I have found that a lot of suppliers will sell them for under £7 if you shop around and they are Gen parts. As I have had early failures of pattern Elements in the past I try to to stick the the genuine items only. The one that annoys me is DST3192085102 which Connect do for £26.

Can you do the same for other components, fridge stats, fan motors, washer pumps etc ?
I have only start back recently so I’m still learning what parts I should stock up on.

    Re: Project ** ELEMENT **

Depends what you’re looking for Walnut, there’s a mountain of knowledge within these forums and to obtain it all at once is nothing short of impossible in all honesty. There are massive crossovers on a lot of spares in most instances although not all it has to be said.

What you carry comes down to where you are (what’s been sold/promoted in that area), what products you repair and what brands you see the most of, so guessing at a van stock is a non-starter IMO. A classic mistake that many make taking on a new (large-ish) contract where the “top-selling” lines information is available as it’s almost always a lot of tripe. And, that’s being kind to the figures that the accountants cook up with some formula to rival the best Merlin had to offer.

However, I’m sure that Dave can tell you what he’d consider to be absolutely essential in the general scheme of things if you need it. Personally, I’d see what I was doing and using before stocking as keeping things in stock cost a lot of money. Keeping things in stock without consideration is just tantamount to financial suicide.

Can you tell I’ve been caught in a web of lies once or twice? 😉

    K.
