take the RH side off take the top LH screw out then theres enough to check the guides and slip the belt around the drum. you’ll need the special tool to fit the belt (or a swear box ) 😉

thanks guys for all the help you were righ wilf about the swear box. and mad max using the old belt does help this is the way i went about it. took out one screw on the motor jammed two screwdrivers under the motor. then used the old belt as a tool to pull the belt on to the motor pulley. removed screw drivers put in screw might help some one else to stay sane lol rebuilt tested tumbled one way then the other put on lid job done. had to call back the dryer was running making a scraping noise when checked it was loaded like a cement mixer would over loading cause it to make a scraping sound thanks fasetester 🙂

No, but bad design would. There is a modified drum assy with a rounded off back edge to prevent the drum scraping on the back panel.

Part number C00145650, around £36.00 ex vat list price. Not too difficult to fit.
Worth checking the rear bearing, the ultra tight belt soon gooses them as well.
You could try a couple of washers on the drum shaft on the inside first but the only real cure is a new drum. 😥
