ParticipantHave been given a s/h Proline PDW 080 Slimline dishwasher (I guess someone just hates me !) .
Dishwasher symptoms were blowing trip in holiday cottage.
Meggered element -short to earth.
Bought and fitted new element -ran dishwasher -not circulating water but main pump humming.
Free pump -stiff to start with (been stood for a long time perhaps?)
Dishwasher appears to work ok but water not heating.- no power at element .
Find JW6-11 thermostat/cut out open circuit (located below the far end of the element underneath).
About to purchase new but listing give 2 thermostats ! I can only see this one! is that correct?
Where is the other (if there is) and what pt no. (no.s).
Any help greatly appreciated – will not be beaten by Chinese design 😕November 14, 2011 at 8:13 pm #363619karv

no idea about this dw but sounds like to me that the 1 on the element is the over heat cut out stat and it probaly got to hot when the motor siezed , some times they are reset able , the second stat will most likely controll the heat some use to be next to the dispencer inside of door or pin up against the base of the tank or some maybe some form of ntc stat

Ok have bought new safety stat (the one under the element that had failed open circuit) and fitted.
Dishwasher goes through cycle correctly but does not heat the water.
confirm no power at element, new safety stat has continuity. Where do I head to next?
thanks in anticipation.November 23, 2011 at 10:45 pm #363621ecogeorge

No real knowledge of this machine but… see if it has a second stat that may be causing the prob

Cannot see any other stat on this machine ! have removed door lining to check and nothing there.
Traced N side of element back to main switch -continuity there.
Traced phase side through safety stat and then pink wire goes to terminal 1 (green plug) on timer control.
No matter where I put timer I cannot get continuity on any other pin on this timer unit ?
Is the timer purely mechanical ? or is there a relay incorporated inside that is not in circuit due to power off?
Any thoughts????
