Hi,
I’ve recently been experiencing problems with my Proline PDW080 compact dishwasher.
The first thing I noticed was that the cycle was taking longer than expected. It seemed to stick at the stage where water was being sprayed around. I think the water was hot.
Then a couple of times I opened the dishwasher to find the heating element glowing red with no water in sight and no movement of the arms (don’t think the water had evaporated as there was no steam so can only think that it didn’t get in there in the first place…)
Then I couldn’t replicate the heater element glowing red fault any more… the dishwasher was still getting stuck in the cycle but the water was always cold.
I read on the internet that it may be the thermal cut-out so I ordered one of those and replaced it. This got me back to the stage where the dishwasher gets stuck in the cycle and I can open the door to find a glowing red heater element with no water!
I have tested the resistance of the heater element and it is similar to a new one (I bought a new one in case that was the problem and have since returned it).
I have also had it suggested to me that it might be the timer. Cleaning the contacts was suggested but when I took the timer out it is riveted together so would be a destructive job to clean the contacts.
Can anybody help or is it time to bite the bullet and get rid?
Cheers,
Kev
