Not sure what part I need, hope someone can help.
Was doing the short wash cycle and smelt a burning smell but had to go out so I switched the dishwasher off to check it out later. When I returned I switched it back on, the power light came on but the dishwasher wasn’t working.(not draining/washing/anything) Is it the main motor? Is it the same as the circulation motor?

Oh, come on…….. crystal ball time? If you want to do this yourself, you’re going to have to get the screwdrivers out and have a look.

Chinese jobbie though, so is it really worth bothering with? Put ‘Haier AND dishwasher’ into Search for this forum only for an idea of what you’re up against.

Pull the plug if you are going to have a look.

I know, don’t shout. At least I’m a lady who wants to get the screwdrivers out and mend the damn thing.
I take it from that, ‘bin it’

    Er, it’s not very good……..

Problem is these things tiddle water into the bottom with alarming regularity – as soon as things get wet, just about anything can blow. Parts supply is a problem, cost of parts in relation to the cost of the appliance is not good and whilst it can be made to work, you can’t make it better…….

If you fix it, there are a few ‘does and don’ts’ – never use multi-function tablets in one of these. Powder or Fairy Bursts only; these are low froth products. Once it’s running, never, ever open the door until it’s finished.

These machines cost £45 on the docks in China – it’s a dead easy way for Comet to make £100! Sorry, but you will get what you pay for.

Shouting? No – we turn the Caps Lock on for that 😀 .

Repaired one of these today – same fault – door microswitch at fault – this machine is an old indesit design – part number for switch is c0041194- Remember to unplug it first.

An email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will do the trick.

Forgot I’d saved some parts from my old indesit dishwasher and what do you know, same switch so Proline all fixed.
Thanks for the advice, would never have thought someting so little could cause such huge problems. The switch I took off was totally burned out so I’ll know next time.

Proline is a Comet brand, so you would need to contact them.

Only cost £45 for PDW081S? That is really a good business for Comet.

The margin for retailer is quite high.
It seems a good opportunity to be a dishwasher importer and exporter. :rolls:
