Im not that technical so please bear with me whilst I try explain the issue.

My fridge freezer is not cooling / freezing in either the fridge or the freezer part (fridge is on top and freezer on bottom). The light is still on when you open the fridge and it keeps clicking like something is trying to start and then clicking again about 1 minute later as though something cant switch on inside.

I have pulled it out and the external drip tray is full. The compressor is also red hot (dont know if this is normal). I have had the back out of the freezer and there is no ice build up. I have also checked the drip part in the fridge and it is clean with nothing in it (I had a cotton bud down there to make doubly sure).

Im really annoyed as its only 4 years old and I wont be able to get a replacement as we got it from Comet.
Can anyone advise as to what it is to possibly save me the cost of getting an engineer out if it is going to cost more to repair than it would to buy a one new?

    Hi
Can you determine where the clicking is coming from? If it is coming from the compressor at the rear bottom then it will require a new one.
If the compressor is running then possibly a re-gas will sort the problem but there may be a leak that cant be repaired also.
