    Hi,
I have got the above model Con Dryer to look at tommorow, the cm says it works in that it heats up for for 5-10 mins but then go’s off, she waits 10 mins or so then it does the same. Question is were are the overheat stats on these? And is there any other likely causes? Any tech info you can send me would also be a billy bonus!
    Thanks in advance…

Start relay behind the fascia is the most likely culprit. The relay will start the machine and fail about 5 – 10 minutes into the cycle. Wait for the relay coil to cool and it will seem to work again for a short time. Easiest way to tell is to ask the customer if, when the machine stops, it will work if they hold the start button in? 😉

    HTH,

    Steve.

Its basically a Hotpoint condensor dryer made for Curry’s.

Ok, I have just been down to have a look as the customer is desperate (it’s 80 degress outside??) and basically after about 5 mins it cuts out, lights out the lot, mc is getting 240 to timer. When I keep the on/off switch pressed in the same, nothing…… any ideas? I still think its maybe the start switch
