proline TDC6A heating problem

Hello, I wonder if anyone can help me with some advice. My condenser dryer doesn’t get any heat. I have checked the 2 thermal cut outs on the rear of the machine and they both have continuity when there is no power. I have also checked the heating elements for continuity and they too are fine, likewise the thermal cut out that is just above the door also has continuity. When the machine is running there is no voltage going to the heating elements or to the 2 thermal cut outs on the rear of the machine. I have made sure that the water tank is empty and I have removed the side and back panels to check that the level sensor is working ok, which it is. What can I check next? could the timer possible be faulty? Any suggestions would be gratefully accepted. Absolutely superb site by the way. Peter Eastwood

Did you take the stats out of circuit when testing? If you don’t you get a back reading through the heater.

BLIMEY, that was a quick reply. to answer the question, yes i disconnected the wires from the stats so that the stats were isolated.

Please be very carefull when checking live machines. :zap: We always advise that you check for continuity from the plug top rather than testing for mains voltages. :plug:

The timer is the only other component in circuit so I would agree here that the timer is your next step. It’s not very common though, so double check all the stats first! The heater is only in circuit during forward tumbles by the way.

Thanks, will recheck all the stats when i get home from work today just to make sure, although i am pretty certain that they are not at fault. If I have to replace the controller/timer will one be available from this site and how much would one cost.

Hello, All of the stats on the machine + the level sensor and the heating elements check out ok again. One thing I have noticed is that the water tank full light is illuminating very dimly, infact it is only noticable when the kitchen light is turned off, in normal light it is not noticable. Do you think that the timer/controller is the most likely cause of the problem? if so I will need a price for a new one. The s/n of the machine is 08101304.

Hi new to the site! I note these posts were issued 2006
Did anyone find the problem to this issue cause my proline
Is displaying a very dim water full light and not heating. Everything
Seems to check out ok ?
