I’m after the PTC relay 8EA17C3 for my Maytag Fridge Freezer.

I can’t see anyone listing this specific part, but from googling it looks like it may be part of Whirlpool sparepart 481228298004 – although when I tried to order this from Whirlpool they said there was not stock for this in Europe and could take many weeks to obtain.

Any ideas where I could get the part from?

    Hi

Dave in the shop should be able to get that for you. Hit the green spares tab request form on the right of this page.

    HTH 🙂

All the info I can find says you are correct with that Whirlpool number and it is available, listed here:

Not cheap for what it is though, typical Whirlpool really. 😕

Thanks Guys. Yes for a tiny disk of material and a bit of plastic (that you can buy for pence from China) there seems to be some enormous mark ups going on – supply and demand I guess!

Worst case I know from the specs its a 22ohm PTC device to take 8A, so will have to find something equivalent, but would be nice to keep it OEM.

Just to reply back, that the Whirlpool kit ordered from here had the correct PTC relay, (but overload unit not same – old one still fine). Fridge now working fine again. I did some basic testing and simulated a quick power cut/glitch, I then found the compressor wouldn’t kick in and the overload clicked a couple of times before compressor started properly again (I assume as the PTC has to cool down and the overload gives it time to do this?).

Once again, thanks for the help.
